In 2007, we celebrated the 125th year of our flagship hospital, Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City. Saint Luke’s Ultrasound tech program- Diagnostic Medical Sonography is an 18-month program that prepares you to be an entry-level diagnostic sonographer.The St. Luke’s Hospital Ultrasound Tech Program’s core curriculum includes Physics, Abdominal sonography, OB/GYN sonography, Fetal echocardiography, Breast sonography, Neurosonography and Vascular ultrasound. Students get classroom instruction in the theoretical principles of ultrasound and collecting and analyzing information. Accredited ultrasound technician programs in MO will exposed you to a wide range of state-of-the-art equipment and a large volume of cases.
To be eligible for acceptance into the Ultrasound Tech Program, an overall 3.0 GPA in post-secondary education is required. All applications will be reviewed and scored based on GPA and References. The top 15 applicants will receive interviews while the top five applicants will be chosen for the upcoming Ultrasound Tech Program. All applicants must complete an eight-hour observation in ultrasound, then obtain documentation on letterhead from the institution where the observation is completed that is signed by the chief technologist or instructor, bearing your name and the date and time you observed.Graduates of Saint Luke’s Ultrasound tech program- Diagnostic Medical Sonography program boast a 100 percent pass rate since 2006 – Satisfactory achievement of this program qualifies the graduate to practice as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, RDMS.
