New Jersey has a number of accredited Ultrasound Technician Program. At the Bergen Community College – Paramus, NJ program you’ll specializes in abdomen, ob/gyn and cardiac sonography. Students are required to complete all three specialties upon completion of the program. The program is a competency-based education and provides a curriculum sequence in order for the students to correlate didactic, lab and clinical skills sufficiently. You will first learned basic theory in the classroom then you will get hands on exposure to ultrasound technician equipment. Admission to the Ultrasound Tech Program at Bergen Community College – Paramus, NJ is a five-step process. Admission to college in health professions such as the Ultrasound Tech Program is limited to a specific number of candidates each year because of requirements imposed by accrediting agencies and by the availability of faculty, college laboratory, and clinical agency resources.
All eligible candidates are required to take a Health Professions standardized admissions examination. The examination is given off-campus at a testing center. All eligible Ultrasound Tech candidates with a clear background report will receive an invitation to take the examination. All students applying to Health Professions programs must take the basic skills test and successfully complete all remedial Prerequisite course-work before they apply to the program.
